Crypto Performance: 4 Profitable Coins to Watch this Week

It’s cash out season and many of your favourite coins are hitting higher prices. We’re looking at the numbers to understand how these coins are performing. Based on the latest news and the recent prices of some of these coins, these are the top 4 coins to watch this week:

1. Bitcoin (BTC): The Supreme Leader

Summary: If you invested ₦100,000 in BTC last Monday, you would have ₦105,340 today. If you invested 100,000 in Bitcoin a month ago, you would have approximately ₦143,800 today.

Bitcoin is currently sitting pretty at about ₦7.8 million. Even though we’ve talked about the possibility of a coming surge for the past few months, it’s still crazy. The price movement of Bitcoin is a never ending battle between Bulls (buyers), and Bears (sellers).

Even though sellers have been dumping Bitcoin, buyers are winning because they buy more Bitcoin whenever the price falls. If buyers continue like this, then Bitcoin will pass ₦8 million this week. But if sellers overpower buyers, we may be looking at a fall back below ₦6 million.

Stats for the Week

  • Starting price at the beginning of the week: ₦7,105,297
  • Current price: ₦7,827,026
  • Percentage increase in the last week: 5.34%
  • Percentage increase in the last month: 43.8%

2. Ethereum (ETH): Second in Command

Summary: If you invested ₦100,000 in ETH last Monday, you would have ₦100,630 today. If you invested ₦100,000 in Ethereum a month ago, you would have approximately ₦123,450 today.

Historically, whenever Bitcoin starts running up the charts, Ethereum follows. After Ethereum comes all the other altcoins. It’s the year of DeFi platforms and this could skyrocket the price of ETH. Its current chart is forming a similar pattern to the one it had in December 2017.

People tend to forget Litecoin. But whenever there’s a bull run, Litecoin plays its part. It is relatively cheap and has an active community of holders that always support it. Litecoin recently passed $65 which was a critical level before it can start a price surge.

Ripple (XRP) is that person who always shows up to the party late but always wins ‘best dressed’. In 2017, when the other coins were doing a madness, Ripple just sat there sipping tea. It didn’t hit its peak price until two weeks after Bitcoin hit ₦7.7 million($20,000). XRP is late to the party again but a rally is forming up ahead so look out.
