Okay, so the market dipped a little bit last week. But hey, it’s been performing pretty well for the past two months. Maybe we can cut it some slack for this one 😉.
On the bright side, everything else is going on pretty smoothly. We’ve got a new playlist addition for you, and one of the most iconic venues in the United States is getting a sweet renaming ✨. Check out the biggest headlines from last week:
New Name. Who Dis? 😎
Staples Center is one of the most popular locations in the United States. Basketball fans know it as the home of the Los Angeles Lakers – yeah, LeBron’s team! 🏀 But, last week, Crypto.com announced that it had paid $700 million for the naming rights to the building. So, Staples Center will now be Crypto.com Arena for the next 20 years. That’s definitely a flex.
Red, White, and Bit 🇺🇸
Crypto adoption is definitely increasing all over the world. Need some proof? Well, consider this – a Pew Research survey from last week showed that up to 16% of Americans have invested, traded, or used a cryptocurrency! 😀 The survey showed that crypto adoption is especially popular among people between 18 and 29. It can only get better from here, people!
Tapping Something 💪
While everyone has been focusing on Bitcoin’s price recently, the Bitcoin network itself had some big news last week. It completed the Taproot soft fork – one of the most important upgrades to the network in years. Taproot brought some improvements to the Bitcoin blockchain, including making transactions more private and efficient 👏. Think of it like a software update on your phone.
A Post for The Weekend 🎶
Another week, another celebrity catching NFT fever! Last week, Post Malone released the video for “One Right Now” featuring The Weekend. While the video was pretty clean, we especially loved the beginning – where Posty bought an NFT from Bored Ape Yacht Club 🙈. “One Right Now” already has over 6 million views on YouTube. Anybody want to start a playlist?
Popcorn Time! 🍿
Movie dates are about to rock again! 🥳 Last week, AMC Theaters finally rolled out crypto support. This means that moviegoers can now pay for their tickets using Bitcoin, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, and Ethereum. AMC’s boss even said that they will be supporting everyone’s favorite pet, Dogecoin, next. Elon Musk would be proud.
