We’re finally “marching on from March” 👣 and ending the first quarter of 2022. Not bad, considering that the year started like a week ago 😉.
Even though we’re finally ending Womens’ Month, March isn’t leaving us without a bang from female crypto fans 💥. Check out our news roundup to see what’s been popping in the market.
Not Bored Anymore 🦧
Yuga Labs – the company that created the popular Bored Apes Yacht Club NFTs – has been in the news lately. They bought the entire CryptoPunks NFT collection two weeks ago 🤯, and last week, they raised some big bucks.
Last week, Yuga Labs confirmed that they had raised $450 million from investors 🤑. The capital raise brings the company’s valuation to $4.5 billion. Not bad, since one Bored Ape now costs over $200k.
German (Crypto) Machines 🇩🇪
What do you think of when you hear “Germany?” Cars? Bayern Munich? Well, you might want to start adding crypto to that list because these guys aren’t playing around 💪.
Last week, a report from kuCoin showed that 37% of Germans have already been trading crypto for over a year. The report also added that up to half of all Germans could become crypto investors within the next 5 years 🥳. Yay for adoption, people!
Africa is Cryptoland 🌍
If you thought Germany’s news was big, you ain’t seen nothing yet. There’s another region where crypto is booming, and it’s right here! 😀
Another report from last week showed that crypto transactions in Africa jumped by 2,670% in 2021. 🤯 As the report showed, most crypto transactions in Africa were for international transactions. Why deal with old, boring cash when you can just send crypto to your loved ones abroad?
Life’s Good 😎
Tech companies have been doing a lot of blockchain adoption recently 🤝, and the latest to jump on the trend is LG Electronics.
LG manufacturers pretty much everything – TVs, microwaves, dishwashers, you name it. Last week, the company announced that it will add blockchain services and cryptocurrency sales to its business 👏. Nothing has been decided yet, but we’ll book this as a win still!
You Go, Girl! 👧🏽
We were looking for a perfect way to close out, and the Universe just gave us one! 😋 Last week, popular investor Katie Haun raised $1.5 billion to invest in crypto.
Haun’s capital raise is the largest ever for a female-led investment company 💰. She narrowly beat out Mary Meeker – another investor who once raised $1.3 billion. Wherever you look, women are killing it!
